months.)

minutes before Shabbat candle lighting time, your Shul will be having a full
Seudat Shlishi, with light refreshments and singing, followed by Maariv and
Havdalah. Families are invited and encouraged to attend.
·
Maariv - Summer months: On Shabbat after Mincha and study session.
Winter months: 5 minutes after Shabbat ends.
·
Shacharit
& Mussaf - Monday, Thursday: 6:45am, (7:00AM
during summer months). Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 7:00AM. Saturday morning,
9:00AM (summer months: 9:30AM.)
·
Women’s Late
Afternoon Study Session - With
Rebbetzin Devorah Kornfeld during summer months.
·
Sunday
Morning Minyan and Learning - Every Sunday
there is a morning minyan, which begins at 8:00 am, at the NW Yeshiva.
After davening the Seattle Kollel is offering classes in Talmud from 9:00 to
10:00 am. No prior knowledge of the subject matter is required.
The membership at Shevet Achim includes a growing number of
young families and the Shul is child-friendly. Currently, we offer 2 programs
which run every Shabbat from 10:15 am - 11:30 am in the Winter and from 10:30
am - 12:00 pm during the Summer.
For children aged 2-4 years there is a babysitting room, where two sitters play
with our toddlers so their parents can spend at least part of the service in
Shul.
For children aged 5-8 there is an organized Kids' Program which is themed
around the Parasha, Chaggim and Jewish calendar events. Here, the
children have their own Tefilah service and D'var Torah, they enjoy stories and
games, and learn songs. We provide snacks so the kids can practice Brachot and,
in the Summer months, we spend some time outdoors too.
Both programs are run by a group of our own teenage members who are committed
to making shul fun for the youngest members in our congregation.
We ask that parents are aware of where their children are at all times during
the service and Kiddush. Shabbat mornings can feel very long and our 'teachers'
can't be responsible for children who leave the programs.
We also ask that snacks for Shul are both Pareve and nut free to respect
everyone's dietary requirements. Two of our young members have severe nut
allergies.
The Children's Program is coordinated by Fibi Duke and Jodi Negrin. We are
constantly looking for ways to improve our activities. If you have any comments
or suggestions, please contact Fibi or Jodi.
We look forward to welcoming new kids into our community.

Tribute Cards and other Charities
For that special occasion, to honor someone, or in memory of
someone, a fitting gift would be a Siddur or Machzor with the appropriate
bookplate on the inside cover. In addition, we are in need of two Torah covers
which can be appropriately embroidered with names and occasions. Our present
Torah covers are quite worn. Breast plates and crowns would also be nice
adornments on our Torahs.
